Patrick Wame Magalasi (Was born In March 27,1988) 3rd born in the family of four, his siblings being (Innocent, Alex, and Mphaso his deceased sister) known by his stage name Mafunyeta a.k.a Maluli sometimes King Shaka was a Malawian heavy weight Dancehall artist/Songwriter/Entrepreneur and Actor, He used to call himself Black Cat and Crazy Mofin before he Changed to Mafunyeta, He was crowned King of dancehall in Malawi by his fans, He captured many fans by his unique controversial and pro-gun lyrics and his stuttering and melodramatic style. Mafunyeta was not just a mere musician but he was also a multi talented artist, he was a good footballer and dancer, he first appeared in public through Lucius Banda’s music video as a dancer, at the tender age of ten he used to beat tins with his friends as drums, when he was selected to Mzuzu government secondary school he continued his habit by beating desks – this time – while free styling with his friends, his music began to take on a more positive tone, and he was the fastest rhymer ever. Maluli recorded more than 93 songs plus collabos. He did hit songs like “Ndimakondwa, My queen, Udikilile and Kangobwera” just to mention a few. MAFUNYETA had recorded two debut Albums namely “Courtship
days and Come back again/Ruling (not released)” He worked with different notable producers like Warge, Snoozer, Snowky, BFB, Jacxy, Louis, D.j Sonye, Tapps Bandawe, D.j Sley and Hope Sea just to mention a few respectively, He was first signed under Unique Recording Company in 2008 by Jeremiah Mbemba a.k.a Snoozer Sawatiking, it was a four year contract, even though he was under record label Mafunyeta was allowed to record his songs any where he wants just to bring different flava to his music. Mafunyeta worked with video productions like Fedro Entertainment who shot videos like “Ndimakondwa and Facebook just to mention a few as directed by Atupele Nyondo a.k.a Tupex, K.R.C Production “My queen” directed by Chrispin and Christopher Chiunguzeni, Hytyms Production “Kamkazika” directed by Hyten Chilemba and Unique Videoz “Kangobwera” directed by Snoozer.
Mafunyeta has worked with artist like Parsley, Tay grin, Blak Jack, Malinga Mafia, Macedonia, Maovololo, Chycoon, 3rd Eye, Capital Girl, Mwanache, Sally Nyundo, Honey B, Blacka fella, Gwamba, Chechule, Snyper, Atoht Manje, Apatsa Kwilimbe and his group Mabilinganya Empire, respectively (Black Star, Mady P, Mady Doctor and Tamunyata) among them. End 2012 he started working with a Band called Fire links Band” under Hope Sea. Ninja Man, Fanton Mojah, Jah cure and Evison Matafale inspired Mafunyeta. His music was much based in poetry as he was inspired by Benedicto Okoma Atani, Nyamalikiti thiwatiwa and Mutabaluka internationaly, Maluli born a christian of Roman Catholic who always used to serve masses at S.t Patricks Parish when he was young.
