According to ZNBC, Zambian Artist Chile One Mr Zambia Has Been Arrested For Alleged Theft

Zambian artist Obed Chileshe, better known as Chile One Mr Zambia, was arrested today in Lusaka’s New Kasama area on charges of theft. The 30-year-old singer is accused of stealing K6,530 from Radio Maria Yatsani Voice.

According to police, the radio station hired Chile One to produce a jingle for K6,500. The money was initially transferred to his FNB account, but Chile One claimed it never appeared. Consequently, the station sent another K6,530 to his MTN mobile money account, with the understanding that he would refund the initial payment once it was resolved. Though he completed the jingle, he allegedly never returned the initial amount.

Chile One was taken into custody around noon today and remains detained, pending formal charges.
