Mathias Mhere || Biography
Mathias Mhere, a popular Zimbabwean gospel musician, was born on June 13, 1988, in Mukaro, Gutu, Masvingo, and raised in Gweru. He attended Saint Mary’s Primary School and later went to Matinunura High School for secondary education. Mhere is married to Susan Dzinamarira, and they have a son named Shayne.
Mhere‘s passion for music began at a young age. He would sing while herding cattle, working in the garden, or even playing music using worn-out pots (zvingwendere). He often performed in church, but his desire for music went beyond that. Despite facing early struggles in his career, his love for music never faded.
To pursue his dream, Mhere teamed up with his siblings Daniel, Miriro, and Melody to form a gospel band called Gospel Hurricane. His breakthrough came in 2012 with his album “Anoita Minana“, featuring the hit song “Favour“, which topped gospel charts and made him famous in Zimbabwe.
Mhere’s rise to fame shows the power of persistence and passion in achieving dreams, and he continues to inspire many through his gospel music.
