When Tupac and Biggie passed away, many thought that we will never again hear another hard and cutthroat gangsta rap. But in the late 90s the world heard DMX. Most of DMX‘s tracks are filled to the brim with feelings of anger and aggression, because these negative emotions haunted him his entire life.

When he was just a kid, he endured severe beatings from his own mom. He also ended up in juvie. At just the age of 14, he tried weed and crack for the first time, and he was introduced to theft and a life of crime. All of this took a toll on his mental health from a very early age.
